The Demon Child arrived at the Jiuhua Sect and the Kongshan Sect to extract the spiritual veins, but was personally blocked by Xue Ranran. With her cultivation from two lifetimes, Xue Ranran used her spiritual pressure to intimidate the Demon Child, causing him to retreat each time in fear. However, Xue Ranran believed this passive approach was insufficient, and that she needed to quickly master the method to open the Three Thousand World Tower and prepare countermeasures ahead of time.

Wei Jiu sent spies to protect Tu Jiuyuan and report back to the Xuantian Sect. They informed him that Tu Jiuyuan had found a secluded village to reside in, seldom leaving due to her incomplete recovery. She spent her days sitting in the yard, looking at the mountains and rivers. Wei Jiu ordered for an unfamiliar doctor to be sent to treat Tu Jiuyuan, but it was to be done secretly, without her knowledge.

The Demon Child returned to the Eastern Palace to question Shun Tian, stating that if not for Xue Ranran’s interference, he would have already extracted the spiritual veins. However, Shun Tian believed the Demon Child had not yet fully tamed Su Yishui's body, which was preventing him from harming Xue Ranran. Time was running out, and if there was no other solution, Shun Tian suggested they could awaken the Twin Execution Ghost Serpents from the Ghost Realm.

Su Yu ordered Wu Mi to investigate secretly and learned about the methods Shun Tian had been using on everyone. However, his own health was deteriorating, and his eyesight was becoming blurry. Shun Tian appeared and directly admitted to his actions, revealing that Su Yu would soon lose both his sense of taste and smell.

When Su Yu asked what consequences the opening of the Three Thousand World Tower would bring, Shun Tian confessed it would lead to the destruction of the heavens and earth. Yet, he continued to compare the destruction to the dignity of the crown prince and the suffering of the masses. Su Yu realized that Shun Tian was not merely awakening the Demon Child—Shun Tian himself was a demon, cunning and deceitful.

To avoid being controlled like a puppet, Su Yu drew his sword to end his life, but once again, Shun Tian stopped him. Mu Ranwu admitted her mistake to Shun Tian, asking to be included when the Three Thousand World Tower was opened. Shun Tian, ever the manipulator, took advantage of Mu Ranwu's greed and ordered her to bring Su Yu to a designated place and take good care of him.

Xue Ranran sensed that Su Yishui’s consciousness had been sealed by Shun Tian, and she suspected that his spiritual sea had been closed off. Zeng Yi received a letter asking for help about the demonic serpent causing chaos at Qiuhan Mountain, and Xue Ranran decided to investigate. Tu Jiuyuan was living at the foot of Qiuhan Mountain, and when she received a request from the villagers, she went up the mountain to deal with the demon serpent.

When Wei Jiu heard this, he chastised the dark guards for their failure to protect Tu Jiuyuan, who had been missing for two days. Wei Jiu decided to go up the mountain himself to search. The Twin Execution Ghost Serpents soon appeared. Wei Jiu found Tu Jiuyuan's purse in a clearing and assumed she had been devoured. He approached the Twin Execution Ghost Serpents with his Chiyan Sword but could not sense Tu Jiuyuan's spiritual energy.

He was, however, scratched by one of the serpents. After the Twin Execution Ghost Serpents vanished, Wei Jiu soon found the injured Tu Jiuyuan. He tenderly bandaged her wounds and then took her back. Several disciples from the Immortal Gate arrived to capture the demons but were replicated into identical human forms. Wen Hongshan realized that anyone tainted with blue blood would fall under their influence. Wei Jiu, too, was duplicated into an identical form.

He returned to the Xuantian Sect with Tu Jiuyuan, and when he revealed his true identity, Tu Jiuyuan was completely unconvinced. She allowed the duplicate to issue commands, and just as Wei Jiu was about to be executed, Tu Jiuyuan pushed him into a deep cliff. The opening battle raged on as Kaiyuan Immortal fought to the death, and the Jiuhua Sect had already fallen. Other sects would soon follow.

The Demon King asked Shun Tian how they would handle the Three Thousand World Tower once it was opened. Shun Tian revealed that he had already found the perfect location. Xue Ranran sent a letter to Yan Liangyu, stating that she had found a way to prevent the opening of the Three Thousand World Tower and asked the Immortal Gate to meet at Mount Wester to discuss.

Yan Liangyu, accompanied by Wen Hongshan, arrived at Mount Wester but was met with a new wave of Zheying people. Xue Ranran had seen how to identify them in the Xuantian Sect’s records: they cast no shadow in the sunlight. However, the number of Zheying people was increasing, and they needed to find a way to completely eliminate them quickly.

Su Yu had been trapped in the palace for months but continued to honor the ritual of offering sacrifices to Heaven and his ancestors, hoping for a glimmer of fortune. On the day of the sacrifice, Xue Ranran approached the main hall and saw that Su Yu had become very weak. She promised to make the best medicine for him to heal his wounds.

Su Yu, however, was more concerned with whether Xue Ranran had ever loved him in her past or present life. Xue Ranran responded that she had always considered him a close friend and confidant.
