After leaving Zhuang Momo's room, Long Yixiao couldn't help but smile. When his subordinates saw him, they asked why he was laughing, but he didn't even realize he was doing it. They asked if the Fierce Bride had enchanted him with some kind of spell, but Long Yixiao stopped them and asked them to investigate a poison called Bai Du San Li Wan.
Later, Long Yixiao took Zhuang Momo to the silk shop, where the owner came to greet them. Long Yixiao said he wanted to buy her a decent outfit so she wouldn't scare Lady Xuanguo at the upcoming Dragon Boat Festival. Zhuang Momo tried on many outfits, but Long Yixiao was never satisfied and even said that no matter what she wore, it was a waste because she was so ugly. This hurt Zhuang Momo's feelings, and she didn't want to try on anything else.
Finally, she randomly picked one outfit, but Long Yixiao thought it looked perfect and had the owner pack it up. The owner hesitated and said it was a custom-made outfit that cost 300 gold taels for Miss Liu. Long Yixiao offered 1,000 gold taels, and the owner happily agreed.
Two women came over and greeted Long Yixiao warmly, but they mocked Zhuang Momo for being so ugly and daring to accompany the young master. Long Yixiao hugged her and declared that she was his wife, warning the women not to bully her or they would face his wrath. The women left, and Zhuang Momo was touched by how protective Long Yixiao was of her.
