Li Shubai was very surprised when he saw the clues left by Yun Ying on the scroll. A mysterious person came over and took off Yun Ying’s mask. Li Shubai arrived at Jiang’s mansion, but the door was closed. A masked assassin came to kill Li Shubai. The two fought, but the assassin was no match for Li Shubai and was killed.
Grand Secretary Jiang brought Yun Ying over, and Li Shubai was very nervous. He asked them to release Yun Ying and let them dispose of him as they wished. Li Shubai was injured in an attack and Yun Ying looked very distressed. Grand Secretary Jiang said that Yun Jing had been operating in the northwest for many years and that the people there loved him very much. But if he had no intention of usurping the throne, he should voluntarily give up his military power. Grand Secretary Jiang said that it was not he who had harmed Yun Jing but that he had just gone with the flow.

The eunuch told the Crown Prince that they had reason to besiege Xing Yue Lou but not Jiang’s mansion. The Crown Prince felt that Li Shubai was still too anxious and that he had tied his hands and feet for a woman. This fire might burn him, so he ordered his men to withdraw.
Grand Secretary Jiang felt that the Crown Prince was inherently wayward and selfish and could not assume the throne at all. He said that because Yun Ying had done so much for him, he would let her have a companion on Huangquan(Dying) Road.
