The princess planned to wait for Liu Fuyi at the Hall of Flourishing Goodness, but unexpectedly, Liu Fuyi came to see her before she set out. He didn’t want her to suffer criticism on his behalf, so he came early to make things clear: no matter how long she waited, he wouldn’t come. He promised he would not appear before her again in the future. The princess couldn’t understand why Mu Yao mattered so much to him.

Liu Fuyi’s eyes were filled with sorrow as he thought of Mu Yao—a strong, determined woman. Five years ago, while tracking a powerful demon, he was injured and saved by Mu Yao. It turned out Cui Cui had found him and given him the bamboo dragonfly Ling Miaomiao had wanted him to have, along with a letter she wanted sent to Taicang County, in which she wrote, "I like Ziqi, and I am willing to marry Ziqi. " Moved by her heartfelt letter and the bamboo dragonfly with a carved heart, Mu Sheng regained his strength and resolve, setting aside the past and returning to the capital.

Ling Miaomiao, with tears still on her face, threw herself into Mu Sheng’s arms, now understanding his feelings. While the princess mourned her broken heart, Mu Yao found her and asked for her help with something important.
