Mu Sheng was forced back into the formation and revealed his true demon form. Liu Fuyi tried to explain on his behalf, and Ling Miaomiao hurried to help Mu Sheng explain to Mu Yao, but Mu Sheng stopped her, saying that Mu Yao was his sister, and it should be her decision. Master Wenxin continuously pressured Mu Yao to take action against Mu Sheng, insisting that the Mu family, as a prestigious demon-hunting family, should have no dealings with demons.

When he saw Mu Yao ready to act, Master Wenxin drew Liu Fuyi's sword and aimed it at Mu Sheng. However, Mu Yao firmly stood by her brother's side. What if Mu Sheng was a demon? They had grown up together, sharing a bond like that of siblings—no outsider had the right to interfere. Originally, Mu Yao had thought Master Wenxin was wise, but now she realized he was narrow-minded.

She decided that if this was the way things were, they might as well not enter the Ràn Valley. Mu Yao, with Mu Sheng, prepared to leave, but Master Wenxin suddenly attacked Mu Sheng, and the area where they clashed turned into a barrier. Mu Yao and the others outside the formation were frantic, but they couldn’t enter. Once again, Mu Sheng was thrown back into the formation, but this time, something unexpected happened—his shadow changed.

His true shadow was a lotus flower. Master Wenxin explained that if Mu Sheng had not concealed his true nature, there would have been no issue. Seeing this, Liu Fuyi finally breathed a sigh of relief. Afterward, Mu Sheng, Ling Miaomiao, Liu Fuyi, and Cui Cui went to apologize to Mu Yao. They hadn't meant to hide anything from her, but Mu Yao only allowed Mu Sheng to stay behind.

Ling Miaomiao understood that Mu Yao wasn’t truly angry with them, but the fact that everyone else knew Mu Sheng's secret while she, as his sister, did not, made it hard for her. Mu Yao was indeed upset. She felt she had failed as a sister, always concerned about everything else but neglecting Mu Sheng. She had thought he was aloof and didn’t like making friends, only to realize today the kind of life he had been living.

Mu Sheng, with a lump in his throat, finally cried, and the years of unresolved feelings were released by Mu Yao’s words: "A Sheng, I’ve wronged you. "Mu Yao, along with Liu Fuyi and Cui Cui, also apologized to Mu Sheng, vowing not to keep things from her in the future. Ling Miaomiao suddenly felt a strange sensation. It seemed like today's events were somehow orchestrated.

Master Wenxin appeared to know a lot, and she couldn’t shake the feeling that there was more to everything. Their conversation was interrupted by Master Wenxin, who invited them to help with cooking. Ling Miaomiao and Cui Cui busied themselves assisting, while Mu Sheng was tasked with chopping firewood. Though he did as told, he remained wary of Master Wenxin. They discovered that the back mountain of the Ràn Valley was home to many demons.

It turned out that Master Wenxin didn’t harbor any resentment toward demons and never drove them away. Here, humans and demons coexisted harmoniously. In a vast bamboo forest, Cui Cui went to check if his grandfather was there, and to his surprise, he found his long-missed grandfather, Qingqing. However, Qingqing was old and had only just remembered his grandson after a long time.

While they reminisced, Mu Yao, Ling Miaomiao, and Mu Sheng had already fallen asleep on the ground, yawning. Liu Fuyi seemed to know everything about Qingqing’s background, indicating that he had known the old demon resided in the valley for a long time, but had kept it secret because of Master Wenxin’s wishes. Master Wenxin had prepared a meal for everyone. He seemed to know Mu Yao's father but avoided answering questions, instead speaking about the coming catastrophe.

In three months, a blood moon would appear in the sky. Ling Miaomiao was startled. Could there really be an apocalypse? After dinner, Master Wenxin had Qingqing lead them into the memory of the Catastrophe that occurred nine hundred years ago. In Qingqing’s memories, they saw scenes of widespread suffering until Mu Qingshi appeared, defying the flow of people to save them. The group was shocked to see that Mu Qingshi looked exactly like Ling Miaomiao!

They were all baffled—why did Ling Miaomiao have the Seven-Colored Inner Dan, and why did Mu Sheng pull out the Crescent Moon Sword? Master Wenxin, however, did not agree that Mu Sheng was the savior. He mocked Mu Sheng for his weak and ineffective moves, leaving Mu Sheng furious, almost grinding his teeth. To help Mu Sheng live up to the title of the savior, Ling Miaomiao took it upon herself to supervise his training.

One day, when Ling Miaomiao wasn’t looking, Mu Sheng snuck up to her and tried to get close, but she coldly rejected him. Mu Sheng, unwilling to back down, decided to challenge Master Wenxin himself, curious as to why Master Wenxin was afraid to enter the formation of "Wenxin Zhi Zhen.
