Shi Niangzi discovered Guo Xiu and was about to attack him and Mu Yao when Li Zhun rushed over to stop her. It turned out that Li Zhun was the one who helped Mu Yao send a message to the Qintian Bureau. He had already learned everything. Ten years ago, when Shi Niangzi first saved him and Chu Chu, Li Zhun knew she was a demon.

Back then, Shi Niangzi had sought the help of the phantom demon to revive Chu Chu because, as a parent, she couldn’t bear to see her child die. She had hoped that Chu Chu could inherit the phantom demon’s essence. However, Li Zhun had known the truth all along. He understood that everything Shi Niangzi did was for him and urged her to stop, even pleading with Mu Yao and Guo Xiu for forgiveness.

Mu Yao tried to persuade Shi Niangzi, reminding her that Li Zhun had always been by her side—he was her way back to redemption. Chu Chu appeared in the village with Liu Fuyi. Shi Niangzi captured Mu Yao and used her blood for Chu Chu. Chu Chu, preparing to break her cocoon, instructed Liu Fuyi to carve out Mu Yao’s heart after she emerged so she could consume it. However, Shi Niangzi had secretly poisoned Chu Chu.

During the cocooning process, a phantom demon’s power is at its weakest. This was all part of Shi Niangzi and Mu Yao’s plan. Enraged, Chu Chu manipulated everyone, but Guo Xiu arrived just in time to help them subdue her. Liu Fuyi, unaffected by Guo Xiu’s immobilization spell, was stopped by Mu Yao herself. The two fought for real this time, but when Mu Yao’s blade rested against Liu Fuyi’s neck, she couldn’t hold back her tears.

Her tears broke through Liu Fuyi’s illusion. He longed so much for peace that he had chosen to believe the falsehoods around him. But falsehoods remain false; Liu Fuyi had to wake up. He severed the threads of control himself, declaring that living like a puppet or dying made no difference. Liu Fuyi collapsed into Mu Yao’s arms, and even without a heart, he still loved her. As Chu Chu faced death, she vowed to take the world with her.

Shi Niangzi and Guo Xiu were at a loss until Mr. Wenxin appeared to stabilize the situation. Meanwhile, Mu Sheng and Ling Miaomiao bid farewell to Liu Niang. Liu Niang handed them a pearl containing fragments of the demoness’ memories, explaining that her previous obsession had blinded her from understanding them. Now, she entrusted it to them to explore on their own.

The memories revealed that the demoness had once told Qingyi Hou to leave with his companions, as he would bring disaster to Qilin Mountain. Their bond had ended there—true love isn’t always about staying together; sometimes, it’s about letting go. Though Qingyi Hou was reluctant to leave, he understood her intentions. As a parting gift, the demoness gave him a wooden bracelet, hoping that one day, the three of them—herself, Qingyi Hou, and their child—could reunite.

Mu Sheng was moved to discover how deeply his parents loved each other and him. The waxing moon stirred, and Mu Sheng finally merged with it, fully mastering its power. Though he had regained all his memories, Ling Miaomiao still found some details puzzling. Mu Sheng’s memory had begun returning much earlier than Liu Niang had claimed. But they put their doubts aside, focusing on the greater crisis of the impending Heavenly Destruction.

Shi Niangzi used Han Yu silk and her demon power to save Liu Fuyi, hoping that redeeming one life might be enough to justify her title as the Miracle Healer. Li Zhun, devastated by the loss of his love, fell into deep sorrow. Seeing this, Mr. Wenxin gifted him the Lu family’s secret techniques to maintain his health. He advised Li Zhun to live on, as life’s meaning could eventually be rediscovered.

Liu Fuyi buried the villagers’ bodies, finally understanding that some mistakes could never be undone. Mr. Wenxin repaired the Map of the Hundred Demons and Seas using Han Yu silk, making the journey worthwhile, though the restoration wouldn’t be complete until the New Year. By then, Ling Miaomiao and Mu Sheng were expected to return to the valley, and everyone could celebrate together.

When Mu Yao and Liu Fuyi returned, Cui Cui was overjoyed, and Ling Miaomiao and Mu Sheng quickly greeted them. Upon hearing of their marriage, Mu Sheng clenched his teeth in frustration, warning Liu Fuyi never to mistreat Mu Yao. As Mr. Wenxin worked on the map, he recalled memories of Mu Huaijiang. Mu Huaijiang had destroyed Qilin Mountain, and Mr. Wenxin blamed himself for giving him the map, which had fueled Mu Huaijiang’s greed. In anger, Mr.

Wenxin destroyed half of the map and severed ties with him. Mu Sheng unexpectedly challenged Mr. Wenxin again. With the waxing moon’s power, even Mr. Wenxin couldn’t defeat him. Mu Sheng realized that Mr. Wenxin had deliberately allowed him to search for answers. But who was the person imprisoned in the Mu family’s old residence? Mu Huaijiang had forbidden anyone from approaching the dungeon, but one day, Mu Sheng was drawn by a song and saw her.

She looked identical to his mother, yet she couldn’t possibly be her. This person was a Resentful Woman, created when a demoness loses her heart. To possess the demoness’ heart was to become a Heaven-tier demon hunter, but losing it transformed her into a Resentful Woman. This fate was entirely Mu Huaijiang’s doing—she became a ninth-tier Resentful Woman, the Heartless Demon King. Mr.

Wenxin had been deeply disappointed in Mu Huaijiang, refusing to read his letters and missing his chance to stop the tragedy. His greatest regret was failing to prevent everything. Mr. Wenxin didn’t reveal these truths to Mu Yao, believing that some truths are better left untold. However, he still wondered how the Resentful Woman had broken free to slaughter the Mu family.

The truth was that Mu Sheng, under her influence, had brought her tea, breaking the formation and enabling her massacre of the Mu family. Mr. Wenxin had discovered the Resentful Woman’s location and realized that the so-called Heavenly Destruction was her doing. Mu Sheng, knowing everything, proposed a solution. He believed that returning the Glazed Heart to his mother could restore her as a demoness. He was even willing to lose his demon core and all his powers.

Though uncertain of success, he wanted to try, seeing it as the fairest resolution for his mother and sister. Bowing respectfully, Mu Sheng pleaded with Mr. Wenxin for his assistance.
