Lin Zhi noticed that there seemed to be a connection between Lin Yujing and Shen Juan. With this in mind, she was even less likely to keep Lin Yujing in Pucheng. Knowing that she couldn't convince Lin Zhi, Lin Yujing reluctantly sought help from Meng Weiguo. However, Meng Weiguo was unwilling to speak up for Lin Yujing. He understood Lin Zhi's temperament and knew that once she made up her mind, nothing could change it. He could only express his thoughts to Lin Yujing, which made her very angry. She regretted seeking help from Meng Weiguo because he had never been reliable.
Angry, Lin Yujing left and sat at the bus stop lost in thought. Fu Mingxiu walked over and understood her predicament. He advised her to adapt to the environment and grow quickly, assuring her that she could find a solution. Lin Yujing was moved by his words and wished he were her real brother. Fu Mingxiu stated that from a legal standpoint, he was indeed her brother and would support her.
Leaving on the bus, Lin Yujing went to a jewelry store, hoping to run into Shen Juan. Unfortunately, he wasn't there. After feeding a cat, she sat and reminisced about past events. She felt bitter knowing that once she left, she might not return soon. Shen Juan returned, noticing the cat food, and realized Lin Yujing had been there. He messaged her and she replied briefly, saying she was just passing by to feed the cat.
Luo Qinghe's health deteriorated, and Shen Juan and his uncle stayed by his side at the hospital. Lin Yujing hadn't seen Shen Juan during this time. Liu Fujiang called Lin Yujing to his office. He knew she planned to transfer to another school next semester. Although reluctant, he wished her well and encouraged her to study hard and lead her life as she wished.
At the end of the term, the essay topic for the Chinese exam was surprisingly "Farewell." Both Lin Yujing and Shen Juan were moved by this. Shen Juan submitted a single sentence while Lin Yujing wrote an essay but didn't turn it in. After the exams, Lin Yujing prepared to leave. Fu Mingxiu invited her for a drink and she asked him to thank Guan Xiangmei for taking care of her. Fu Mingxiu said he had helped her too, and when she asked how to repay him, he told her to owe him for now and left his room key for her.
Putting a teddy bear into her luggage, Lin Yujing made Xu Ruyi teary-eyed. Gu Xia consoled her, saying it wasn't like they would never meet again. When the final exam scores were posted, Wang Yiyang noticed both Lin Yujing and Shen Juan had poor grades in Chinese. He suspected a grading mistake and asked Lin Yujing to request a review, but she didn't. She exchanged her essay with Shen Juan's in their textbooks, a sort of farewell keepsake.
Liu Fujiang arranged for Lin Yujing to give a farewell speech to her classmates. Wang Yiyang learned about Lin Yujing's plan to transfer and urgently contacted Shen Juan, who was unaware due to his visit to Luo Qinghe. When Shen Juan finally got the message and rushed to the airport, Lin Yujing had already left.
Back in Huai Cheng, Lin Yujing tried to message Shen Juan but Lin Zhi took away her phone to ensure she focused on studying. Meanwhile, Luo Qinghe's condition worsened, and Shen Juan's father returned from abroad to discuss the next treatment steps with the attending doctor.
