Tu Xiaoning and Ji Yuheng had an argument. Ji Yuheng felt that Tu Xiaoning had changed, but in Tu Xiaoning's eyes, Ji Yuheng was no longer the same person he used to be. The next day was the weekend. Early in the morning, Tu Xiaoning went to the hospital to take care of Ji Yuheng’s mother.
She knew the elderly woman missed her son, but recently, Ji Yuheng had been so busy with work that he hadn’t had time to visit his mother. Tu Xiaoning reminded him that visiting hours ended at 4 p. m. and hoped he could make it to the hospital before then. Upon arriving at the hospital, Tu Xiaoning learned that the patient in the bed next to Ji Yuheng’s mother had passed away the previous night.
Ji Yuheng’s mother was also feeling down and expressed her wish to return to the old house. She wanted to spend her final moments at home. Ji Yuheng was delayed by traffic and couldn’t visit his mother before 4 p. m. When he arrived at the hospital, he ran into Tu Xiaoning coming out. As soon as they got in the car, they received a call from Dr. Zhou, who informed Ji Yuheng that his mother’s condition was suitable for a special medication, but it would be expensive and required out-of-pocket payment.
Ji Yuheng glanced at Tu Xiaoning, who immediately agreed to use the medication without hesitation. Ji Yuheng then responded to Dr. Zhou. Back home, Tu Xiaoning helped Ji Yuheng trim his hair. She noticed how exhausted and stressed he had been lately and suggested selling the house to alleviate the financial burden of his mother’s treatment.
Manager Rao increasingly noticed that Tu Xiaoning and Ji Yuheng’s relationship was unusual, but she said nothing, only reminding Tu Xiaoning to focus on the task at hand.
