Zhan Zhao Adventures is a historical wuxia drama directed by Liu Hongyuan, starring Yang Yang, Zhang Ruonan, and Alen Fang.

The drama is adapted from the novel of the same name by Minifish. It tells the story of Zhan Zhao, who serves as a fourth-rank imperial guard with a sword by the emperor's side. He crosses paths with Huo Linglong, the headstrong eldest daughter of Linglong Manor, and Bai Yutang, the passionate and justice-driven "Golden-Furred Rat." Together, the three form a bond through life-and-death adventures, gradually uncovering the truth behind a series of events.

Synopsis

Huo Linglong, the eldest daughter of Linglong Manor, runs away from home to escape an arranged marriage. At a mountain inn, she encounters a mysterious man in black who, though gravely injured, possesses extraordinary skills. The man in black, hunted by both righteous and villainous factions, repeatedly comes to her aid, piquing her curiosity. She later discovers that he is none other than the Southern Hero, Zhan Zhao, who is being pursued by various forces for obtaining incriminating evidence against Prince Xiangyang.

After defeating several formidable enemies, Zhan Zhao realizes his poison-induced injuries are beyond cure. He entrusts the evidence to Huo Linglong, buying her time to escape by holding off their pursuers, only to fall into an ambush himself. His enemies threaten the lives of innocent villagers, forcing Zhan Zhao to surrender and be captured. Meanwhile, Huo Linglong is caught by Shao Jizu, her fiancé and one of Prince Xiangyang’s subordinates, who demands the evidence she holds. Guided by a white-clad young swordsman, Huo Linglong defeats Shao Jizu. The young swordsman is revealed to be none other than the renowned "Golden-Furred Rat," Bai Yutang.

Together, Huo Linglong and Bai Yutang rescue Zhan Zhao. With their combined efforts, the trio pursues clues, upholds justice, apprehends criminals, and dismantles Prince Xiangyang’s vast web of influence, which spans both the court and the martial world. In the end, they thwart Prince Xiangyang’s conspiracy, restoring peace and security to the people.
